Sagittarius is our seeker. She is both the teacher of life’s lessons and the forever student.

While many astrologers will peg Sagittarius as an adventure hungry traveler, it’s important to also understand that the most powerful adventures happen when we go within - when we visit the depths of our consciousness, when we discover something about ourselves and our close communities that we hadn’t seen before.

This mutable fire sign asks us to push the edge of our comfort zone. To ask more of ourselves and our experiences. To remain open to new ways of thinking and being.

Strategies of Sagittarius:

  • An open mind to foreign cultures and ideas

  • Understands the impermanence of life

Shadows of Sagittarius:

  • Overly optimistic

  • Poor judgement (ie too trusting or devoted to a cause)

  • Lack of follow through, flighty

  • Seeking new experiences out of FOMO or to escape “real life”

  • Favoring technical knowledge to lived experience (thinking vs feeling)

  • Rebellious

How to utilize the Sagittarius energy:

  • Study something that lights you up.

  • Have a new experience. Cook a new recipe or try a new cuisine. Watch a documentary about a different culture or area of the world. Step outside your comfort zone.

  • Connect to the energy of joy. Lighten up your responsibilities and to-do lists and allow yourself to enjoy the moment.

  • Be social. Organize a Zoom movie night, go for a socially distant hike, join a conscious community and make new friends! ‘Tis the season!

  • Laugh! Watch a comedy or let yourself be silly - let the medicine of laughter soothe your soul.
